I spent 6 years at City Forests, the Dunedin City Councils Forestry Company, part of a team managing a 30,000ha forest estate.
As an NZ owned entity, City Forests was one of the first players into the farm to forest conversion space utilising the NZ Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) to earn carbon credit revenue.
I am an ETS specialist and run the Dunedin and Southland offices for Forest Management Limited, focusing on private investment and rural landowner clients. We help clients understand and utilise the ETS and carbon credit opportunity to establish production forests.
Key parts of this process include due diligence on properties for ETS eligibility, facilitating land purchases, cashflow projections, ETS registrations and compliance, as well as carbon sales.
