Carbon emission reporting has become a reality of many organisations throughout New Zealand. Seeing them reporting their carbon footprint at the same time as reporting their annual financials.
Description
Carbon emission reporting has become a reality of many organisations throughout New Zealand. Seeing them reporting their carbon footprint at the same time as reporting their annual financials.
New Zealand's largest organisations (all large listed NZX companies and all government agencies) have been mandated to measure their carbon footprint annually. This is having a trickle-down effect for all New Zealand businesses, as they try to understand what their emissions are, the different global and NZ Government policies and the settings which apply to them.
Carbon accounting 101 (and 201) will cover areas such as:
- How to measure the carbon footprint of a business
- Net Zero - what does this really mean, for a business, for New Zealand
- Carbon credits - what are they, how do they work, can I invest in them?
- NZ government grants and funding available for businesses looking to decarbonise, and how other government policies work
- Supply chain emissions and other tough to calculate emission sources
- Overview of the global standards in place (such as ISO 14064)
