From the start of April 2024 providers of services through online marketplaces, regardless of if they are a resident or non resident for tax purpose must collect and return GST of 15% at the time of providing the service. This change will apply whether the seller is GST registered or not.

He is currently a member of the Institute's National Tax Advisory Group and has previously been a lecturer at the University of Otago in Taxation.
